Phil and Melody Stephens

Missionaries to Zambia, Africa

Phil and Melody Stephens are missionaries to the remote bush tribal people of Zambia, Africa.  They recently returned from Zambia at the end of October 2005.  Their most recent trip was largely conducted to establish a Mission Society registration.  This was not accomplished as yet because the registration processes have hit a snag.   Pray for them that the Lord will bless them as it appears they will need to raise more support than originally anticipated.

Their intention is to leave in late Spring for the field, stay in an apartment (as the Lord provides) for at least 3 months and continue their work for what time the government will extend a short term visa.  The Lord has confirmed to Bro. Stephens that he is to work on the Lozi side in extreme remote areas, so he is certain He will provide  the open doors and means needed.

A Praise Report

On their last trip to Zambia, the team dropped off the ridge road down through the mountains into the valley of a Zambezi upper escarpment area.  the village was huge for the Tonga people and well developed despite it's remote location.  They arranged for a meeting that night and the crowd grew until there were over 200 people gathered near the community school.  They team preached and the invitation message was on Satan the roaring lion.  Over 80 people responded to repent and received Christ as Savior.  There is now a preaching point in Siankope and soon will be a Church by the Grace and Mercy of our Lord and Savior.  Praise the Lord for this report.

Continue to keep the Stephens in your prayers that the Lord will continue to bless their work and provide for their needs.

The Stephens are sent by Victory Baptist Church, Cedar Park, Texas.
